If you have a job offer by an employer in Singapore and you wish to work there, you need to obtain an employment pass first. In order for your application to be considered, you must have acceptable professional qualifications and work experience that is relevant to the position that you have been offered in Singapore. Applicants are assessed on multiple criteria - fixed monthly salary, educational qualifications, skill, type of job and relevant work experience. Your employer needs to submit a request for your pass to be issued. VisaFirst.com can review and prepare the file for lodgment. This application usually takes about 5-10 days to be processed. Once approved, your employer will receive in principal approval letter. This letter will be valid for 90 days. You will need to enter Singapore within this timeframe. Once you arrive, you need to book an appointment at the Employment Pass Service Center and bring the approval in principal letter along with the supporting documents specified in it. Your employment pass card will be issued within 4 working days after your appointment. You or your employer will need to collect it in person. Your employment pass will allow you to work in Singapore for up to 2 years initially. You may apply for an extension if you would like to stay longer. Extensions are normally granted for further 3 years.
